Dr. Mark Leonard completed his undergraduate education at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He then completed a Master’s Degree in Nutrition at Columbia University in New York, followed by entering medical school at MCV in Richmond, Virginia, where he also performed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a Board Certified physician by the American College Of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. James Nashed attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida as an undergraduate. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at MCV in Richmond, Virginia. He is a Board Certified physician by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Namita Kattal
Dr. Namita Kattal joined Winchester Women’s in June 2016 from About Women by Women in Wellesley, MA where she worked for seven years. She attended residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA in 2008. Dr. Kattal completed medical school at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Dehli, India. She is a member of the AMA and ACOG. Dr. Kattal’s practice involves all aspects of obstetric and gynecologic procedures. She enjoys laparoscopic procedures and other non-invasive surgical treatments. Dr. Kattal moved to the Shenandoah Valley with her spouse and young daughter and just had a new addition to her family, a son in August. She enjoys traveling, shopping, outdoors and spending time with her family.
Karen R. Lint-Nguyen, MSN, CNM
Karen completed her nursing education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She has nursing experience in HIV/AIDS, Mother-Baby, Lactation Consulting, and Neonatal ICU. She received her Midwifery Education from Shenandoah University and began practice in the Winchester area in 1999. She is board certified as a Certified Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
Her interests include natural childbirth, adolescent Gynecology, nutrition, breastfeeding support, fitness for women, and contraception management. She practices full scope Nurse Midwifery which includes GYN care throughout the lifetime, prenatal care, and childbirth at Winchester Medical Center.
Sarah K. Werner, CNM, MSN
Sarah completed her nursing education at Alderson-Broaddus University in Philippi, WV. She has nursing experience in labor and delivery and PACU. She received her Midwifery Education from Shenandoah University and began practice at Loudoun Community Midwives in 2014 following her preceptorship with their practice.
Her interests include all aspects of midwifery and general gynecology. Sarah is certified in AWHONN electronic fetal monitoring, breastfeeding friendly consortium and circumcisions. She is a Leesburg Today 40 Under 40 Honoree in the Fall of 2015. She was a NCAA Division II Athlete in volleyball and enjoys coaching. She loves volunteering and being a part of the community. She grew up in Northern Virginia and is excited to serve the Northern Shenandoah Valley with exceptional midwifery and gynecologic care.
